Karachi University Joins University of Central Punjab in Red Bull Campus Cricket Final

Karachi University (KU) outwitted Jinnah Government College in a low-scoring semi-final of the Red Bull Campus Cricket 2016 edition played at the DHA Sports Club, Moin Khan Academy Ground in Karachi. KU will now take on University of Central Punjab in the final of the tournament.

Batting first the team from Jinnah Government College were sent packing for a paltry 68 runs in only 19 overs. The wicket that was conducive for slow bowling made runs scoring a tough ask for the batsmen and last year’s winners Jinnah Government College willow wielders found the task beyond them.

Qadir Khan top-scored with 23 while Hasan Mohsin scored 13 runs. Rumman Raees took three wickets for 10 runs while Mir Hamza chipped in with two wickets conceding 15 runs in his four overs spell.

Karachi University lost early wickets in their chase but eventually succeeded in overhauling the target for the loss of five wickets. Ammar Hasan scored 21 runs while Zakir Ali remained unbeaten with 16 runs, Touheed Khan bowled a splendid spell snaring two wickets for only three runs in his four overs spell.

Rumman Raees from Karachi University team was named Man-of-the-Match.
